A root of hope

From a Borrowed Veranda to a Generation-Shaping Mission

In mid-2018, Shepherds Path Foundation began with zero endowment, a folded plastic folding table, and seven wooden stools set up on an open-air residential veranda. What started as an earnest Saturday morning breakfast offering and remedial reading session for neighbourhood street children quickly unveiled a profound hunger: children eager not simply for food, but for care, belonging, adult guidance, and foundational literacy.

What began under the shade of a borrowed veranda as a Saturday morning meal drive and basic reading circle has grown into a resilient family of care. Witnessing brilliant children sidelined by poverty, we felt called not merely to offer momentary relief, but to build steady bridges of opportunity.

Guided by a simple spiritual conviction—that no child’s God-given calling should remain unreached due to poverty or displacement—our team formalised its outreach structure. We invited local schoolteachers, volunteer nurses, and community elders to join hands in offering holistic guidance.

Today, what commenced on that quiet porch has blossomed into an accredited educational sanctuary and scholarship network reaching remote villages and peri-urban settlements.

When you guide a child along the right path, you don’t just change a life—you transform generations and heal entire communities.— Princess C. Ajiore

Princess C. Ajiore brings over two decades of dedicated humanitarian service, pastoral youth mentorship, and educational advocacy. Her life’s work centres on unlocking the spiritual and academic potential of children who have been overlooked by systemic barriers.

Under her maternal guidance and strategic leadership, Shepherds Path continues to establish sustainable learning safe-havens, advocate for vulnerable young girls, and empower grassroots families toward lasting resilience.

A champion of the fellowship-led educational STEPS literacy Programme, Princess remains hands-on: conducting mentorship sessions on village verandas, training young facilitators, and spearheading regional outreach campaigns that restore dignity to marginalised families.
